By selecting Duesseldorf\u2019s Areal B\u00f6hler as the venue of Art D\u00fcsseldorf, the fair has positioned itself at the junction of the Rhineland and the Ruhr Valley: in the heart of a metropolitan region that has ten million inhabitants and is, with regard to art and culture, at the center of one of Western Europe\u2019s most vibrant regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The internationally renowned art metropolis Duesseldorf positions itself as an ideal location, with its large draw area and its constantly expanding number of art collectors. Thus, Art D\u00fcsseldorf is&nbsp;<strong>embedded within a dense urban cultural landscape<\/strong>&nbsp;with important art institutions directly neighboring it along the Rhine and Ruhr rivers, in Cologne and Bonn, Essen and Bochum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Art D\u00fcsseldorf combines the established with the new. It joins the experimental and the canonized in a direct opposition under the same roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Young galleries as well as German-international gallery partnerships<\/strong>&nbsp;are provided with special support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The art fair celebrates regionality while also welcoming international participants at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since February 2017, the MCH Group in Basel\/Switzerland holds a 25.1 % share of art.fair International GmbH. MCH Group therewith integrates Art D\u00fcsseldorf in its recently implemented Regional Art Fairs initiative, building up a worldwide portfolio of regional art fairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Together with MCH, the contentual focus and the main driving force of the fair is to offer a strong platform for Germany and the bordering Benelux countries and the Rhineland.
