RMN Ang\u00e8le Dequier<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<div class=\"blockauteur\">\n    <p class=\"mt-3\"  itemprop=\"author\" itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/Person\">Par Fanny Revault<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><em><strong>La Raie<\/strong><\/em> <strong>de Chardin est une nature morte, genre consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme mineur, et pourtant, sa technique la hisse parmi les plus belles peintures du XVIIIe si\u00e8cle, faisant dire \u00e0 Diderot qu&#8217;il s&#8217;agit l\u00e0 d&#8217;un chef-d&#8217;\u0153uvre que tout jeune peintre doit copier. \u00c9bloui par la ma\u00eetrise virtuose de la lumi\u00e8re, des reflets et des textures, Lionel Sabatt\u00e9 n\u2019a cess\u00e9 de l\u2019observer et de l\u2019\u00e9tudier alors \u00e9tudiant aux Beaux-Arts de Paris. L\u2019artiste nous confie son admiration pour cette peinture qui transcende, par la lumi\u00e8re, la mati\u00e8re inanim\u00e9e du corps mort de la Raie en une entit\u00e9 irradiante. \u2028Cette toile de grand ma\u00eetre a amen\u00e9 l\u2019artiste \u00e0 questionner la relation entre mati\u00e8re et lumi\u00e8re. Il travaille sur la mati\u00e8re inanim\u00e9e et retomb\u00e9e (poussi\u00e8res, tissus) pour la transformer, par la lumi\u00e8re, en une mati\u00e8re sublime r\u00e9v\u00e9lant de nouveaux mondes. Lionel Sabatt\u00e9 a con\u00e7u une s\u00e9rie de peinture directement inspir\u00e9e de &#8220;<em>La Raie<\/em>&#8221; de Chardin, intitul\u00e9e &#8220;<em>Chrysalide<\/em>&#8221; con\u00e7ue comme des carcasses suspendues en transformation\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"intBlockQR\">\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__Q\"><p>Quelle peinture a marqu\u00e9 dans votre parcours d\u2019artiste ?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__R\"><p>Plusieurs \u0153uvres d&#8217;art m&#8217;ont marqu\u00e9es dans ma vie, mais l&#8217;une d&#8217;entre elles a une importance particuli\u00e8re puisqu&#8217;elle a, je crois, beaucoup influenc\u00e9 ma peinture, sans que j&#8217;en prenne tout de suite conscience. C&#8217;est une peinture qui s&#8217;appelle <em>La Raie<\/em> de Chardin, une \u0153uvre tr\u00e8s connue qui se trouve au mus\u00e9e du Louvre. Ce qui m\u2019a marqu\u00e9, c\u2019est son rapport \u00e0 la mati\u00e8re. Dans ce tableau, la mati\u00e8re peinture figure un poisson, donc une raie, \u00e9ventr\u00e9e, suspendue au centre du tableau, cette figure, un cadavre \u00e9visc\u00e9r\u00e9 d&#8217;une raie femelle. Et par la magie du peintre, \u00e7a devient merveilleux. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"intBlockQR\">\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__Q\"><p>Comment Chardin a-t-il op\u00e9r\u00e9 cette forme de magie\u00a0dans cette peinture ?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__R\"><p>Par la lumi\u00e8re, par la composition&#8230; D&#8217;un c\u00f4t\u00e9, on retrouve ce chat, mais surtout ces esp\u00e8ces de petits poireaux qui repr\u00e9sentent le v\u00e9g\u00e9tal, broussailleux, tout aussi mort et cueilli. De l&#8217;autre c\u00f4t\u00e9, on trouve des objets inanim\u00e9s, aussi plein de vie par la magie du peintre et par la magie des petits reflets, des petites touches de peinture. Ce tableau est organis\u00e9 en triangle\u00a0: cette raie, une pyramide, c&#8217;est la tentative de s&#8217;\u00e9lever apr\u00e8s la mort, chez les \u00c9gyptiens. C&#8217;est un tombeau qui permet au corps de survivre dans l\u2019au-del\u00e0. Pour moi, la raie repr\u00e9sente cela\u202f: \u00e0 la fois un cadavre, mais aussi une chrysalide. Le territoire du changement, la transition vers un autre corps, un corps de lumi\u00e8re, un corps c\u00e9leste. \u2028La premi\u00e8re fois que j&#8217;ai vu cette peinture, elle m&#8217;a troubl\u00e9e par la technique du peintre, qui est r\u00e9ellement exceptionnelle. Ce qui m&#8217;a d\u2019abord plu, c&#8217;est la lumi\u00e8re, dans ce tableau, la mani\u00e8re dont elle circule, le jeu des couleurs au niveau des reflets. RMN Ang\u00e8le Dequier<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<div class=\"intBlockQR\">\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__Q\"><p>Il y a quelques chose d\u2019\u00e9tonnant dans la repr\u00e9sentation de cette nature morte, cette raie est troublante, pr\u00e9sente et magnifi\u00e9e par le pinceau du ma\u00eetre.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__R\"><p>Ce poisson, c&#8217;est aussi un oiseau d\u2019une certaine mani\u00e8re. La raie, c\u2019est un poisson qui vole dans la mer. Ce poisson, c&#8217;est un chef-d\u2019\u0153uvre compl\u00e8tement fascinant, parce qu\u2019il est tr\u00e8s \u00e9tonnant en cela qu\u2019il a quelque chose qui est li\u00e9, \u00e0 mon avis, \u00e0 la figure. Dans ce cadavre de poisson, on ne peut pas s&#8217;emp\u00eacher de voir un visage. On voit un visage qui s&#8217;adresse \u00e0 nous, de fa\u00e7on universel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"intBlockQR\">\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__Q\"><p>Vous travaillez sur la mati\u00e8re inanim\u00e9e (poussi\u00e8res, tissus) pour la transformer en une mati\u00e8re sublime. Quelle est l\u2019influence de ce tableau dans votre \u0153uvre\u00a0?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__R\"><p>\u2028Parmi mes peintures r\u00e9centes, certaines sont directement inspir\u00e9es de <em>La Raie<\/em> de Chardin. Dans l\u2019id\u00e9e, je suis parti d&#8217;une sorte de carcasse suspendue, entre la carcasse et la chrysalide, c&#8217;est \u00e0 dire une entit\u00e9 de transformation et de passage. J&#8217;ai alors utilis\u00e9 des chutes de fragments de soie, les poussi\u00e8res de mon atelier, des poussi\u00e8res du ch\u00e2teau de Chambord et de la peinture \u00e0 l&#8217;huile classique. Dans mon travail, je recherche beaucoup ce rapport \u00e0 la mati\u00e8re inanim\u00e9e, la mati\u00e8re rejet\u00e9e. Petit \u00e0 petit, la peinture \u00e9volue pour aller vers des formes de peinture o\u00f9 la carcasse se transforme en entit\u00e9s toujours li\u00e9e \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re, \u00e0 la poussi\u00e8re, \u00e0 la particule, \u00e0 la pollinisation.<\/p>\n<p>\u2028Pour moi, le lien entre mon \u0153uvre et cette nature morte, c\u2019est le moment o\u00f9 la mati\u00e8re devient lumi\u00e8re et la chair devient lumi\u00e8re. Il y a une dimension biblique, li\u00e9e au sacr\u00e9. Et j&#8217;adore le territoire de la nature morte pour \u00e7a, parce que c\u2019est ce qu\u2019il y a de plus compliqu\u00e9, finalement, d&#8217;atteindre le sublime\u2026 La nature morte aborde des objets inanim\u00e9s, on est alors dans une dimension moins grandiloquent que la peinture d&#8217;histoire. C\u2019est un endroit o\u00f9 c&#8217;est uniquement le geste de peindre qui permet de toucher au sublime.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<script>\n  $( document ).ready(function() {\n  var
