Ses tableaux aux \u00e9clairages d\u00e9licats mettent en sc\u00e8ne des personnages dans leur quotidien, concentr\u00e9s sur une t\u00e2che&nbsp;: lire une lettre, jouer de la musique, ou faire de la couture\u2026<\/strong><br><strong>\u00c9mue par la simplicit\u00e9 des sc\u00e8nes \u00e0 la fois silencieuses et vivantes, immobiles et anim\u00e9s o\u00f9 le temps est suspendu, Edith Dekyndt, artiste plasticienne belge fut troubl\u00e9e tr\u00e8s jeune par cette peinture au Rijksmuseum d\u2019Amsterdam. Un rendu quasi organique du vivant et une exactitude des \u00e9l\u00e9ments (lumi\u00e8re, texture, objets, etc\u2026). Cette pr\u00e9sence du vivant intrins\u00e8que \u00e0 son travail l\u2019a r\u00e9solument nourrie dans sa d\u00e9marche artistique. Rencontre.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"intBlockQR\">\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__Q\"><p>Pour cet entretien, pourquoi avez-vous choisi de parler de Vermeer ?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__R\"><p>La collection d\u2019\u0153uvres, qui m\u2019a touch\u00e9e au point de verser des larmes, ce fut lorsque j\u2019ai vu les premi\u00e8res \u0153uvres de Vermeer \u00e0 Amsterdam. J\u2019avais une vingtaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es, et ce fut un choc de voir des choses si simples de la vie quotidienne. C\u2019est la luminosit\u00e9 et la vitalit\u00e9 de ses \u0153uvres qui m\u2019a profond\u00e9ment \u00e9mue. Je me souviens particuli\u00e8rement des objets, de la lettre, des tissus de certains tableaux. Parmi ses \u0153uvres,\u00a0<em>Jeune fille \u00e0 la lettre<\/em>\u00a0a retenu mon attention.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"intBlockQR\">\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__Q\"><p>Qu\u2019est-ce qui vous int\u00e9resse dans l\u2019\u0153uvre de ce grand ma\u00eetre de la peinture\u00a0?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__R\"><p>\u2028La simplicit\u00e9. Juste un morceau de papier et la femme en bleu. On a l\u2019impression que c\u2019est un instant qu\u2019il a furtivement vol\u00e9 \u00e0 la personne. Je trouve qu\u2019il y a dans cette \u0153uvre un aspect photographique et, en m\u00eame temps, une notion d\u2019\u00e9ternit\u00e9. C\u2019est un instant qui dure, perdure encore et durera pour toujours tant que les tableaux existeront. Ce qui m\u2019int\u00e9resse, c\u2019est aussi ce m\u00e9lange entre l\u2019\u00e9ternit\u00e9 et l\u2019instant fugitif, presque vol\u00e9 \u00e0 la personne, en sachant que Vermeer a d\u00fb passer des heures de travail. Mais tout cela, on ne le percevons pas dans l\u2019\u00e9motion, nous avons juste l\u2019instant d\u2019une sc\u00e8ne qu\u2019il capture.<br \/>\nIl y a aussi beaucoup de myst\u00e8re sur ce moment : cette lettre. Qu\u2019est-ce qui fait que chaque personne peut r\u00e9ellement se projeter dans cette sc\u00e8ne ? Cette ouverture que propose l\u2019\u0153uvre m\u2019int\u00e9resse aussi. Comme si c\u2019\u00e9tait pour nous, contemporains, une sorte de bo\u00eete lumineuse, bien que nous sachions tr\u00e8s bien qu\u2019il s\u2019agit d\u2019une toile de lin sur laquelle de la peinture \u00e0 l\u2019huile a \u00e9t\u00e9 appliqu\u00e9e. Vermeer a donc r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 faire venir la lumi\u00e8re du fond du tableau, mais les lumi\u00e8res sont toujours transversales. C\u2019\u00e9tait un \u00e9l\u00e9ment tr\u00e8s important dans les peintures de cette \u00e9poque, et aujourd\u2019hui encore. Je pense qu\u2019il y a beaucoup de peintres qui aiment la lumi\u00e8re transversale.<br \/>\nCette peinture est \u00e0 la fois vivante, et en m\u00eame temps immobile. Chaque \u00e9l\u00e9ment et mat\u00e9riau, que ce soit le verre, le vivant, les tissus, les objets, le bois, etc, semble\u00a0mol\u00e9culaires\u00a0dans la mani\u00e8re dont il est peint. J\u2019ai trouv\u00e9 cela assez fascinant de penser que Vermeer vivait \u00e0 une \u00e9poque o\u00f9 l\u2019on ne connaissait pas la vie mol\u00e9culaire, mais il vivait \u00e0 une \u00e9poque d\u2019ouverture immense sur le monde.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"intBlockQR\">\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__Q\"><p>Cette ouverture sur le monde que vous \u00e9voquez a-t-elle inspir\u00e9 Vermeer ?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__R\"><p>Oui, Vermeer s\u2019int\u00e9ressait \u00e0 l\u2019astrologie par exemple, et \u00e0 toutes ces disciplines qui se sont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es aux Pays-Bas \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque. Il a aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 influenc\u00e9 par la philosophie, dont celle de Spinoza, et vivait \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 de personnes qui ont d\u00e9couvert des \u00e9l\u00e9ments naturels, ou qui s\u2019int\u00e9ressaient au syst\u00e8me naturel dans lequel nous vivons. Il s\u2019int\u00e9ressait aussi \u00e0 toutes sortes d\u2019autres choses : la mati\u00e8re, le sacr\u00e9, le vivant, le min\u00e9ral, ou encore le v\u00e9g\u00e9tal, tous ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments qui Vermeer a-t-il influenc\u00e9 les penseurs et les artistes ?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n    <div class=\"intBlockQR__R\"><p>Lorsqu\u2019on s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 Vermeer, on se rend compte que beaucoup de personnes ont \u00e9crit \u00e0 son sujet. Comme Proust, par exemple, qui \u00e9crivait combien il \u00e9tait subjugu\u00e9 par un petit mur jaune dans une vue de Delft, qui est en effet un petit carr\u00e9 lumineux, comme si le soleil \u00e9tait arriv\u00e9 pour quelques instants sur ce mur.<br \/>\nC\u2019est une \u0153uvre qui fascine \u00e0 la fois les \u00e9crivains, les peintres et les cin\u00e9astes. Mais je pense que ceux qui lui rendent le mieux hommage sont ceux qui ont per\u00e7u cette lumi\u00e8re \u00e9manant de ces peintures. Ce type de sc\u00e8ne, ce sont simplement des sc\u00e8nes de la vie quotidienne avec des gestes que ces femmes accomplissent chaque jour.
